In the Ncaa
Basketball Tournament the mountaineers have gone 16-19, and last year in
2005 they went to the elite eight. The last time the team was #1 in the
country was in the year of 1958 when they had Jerry West. Jerry West was
just one of the many to be drafted from West Virginia. The coach that
has the most wins at West Virginia is Gale Catlett with 439 wins.
